An award of a silver cup is made each year to the school adjudged to have performed best against the Forty Club. Named the Henry Grierson Trophy after the founder, it was initiated on the Club's 50th anniversary and is awarded for captaincy, batting, bowling, fielding, turnout, and behaviour on and off the field. Whilst public schools are the main XL opposition, the Club is trying hard to widen its scope into the state system. This is seen as an important objective, and it is hoped that one day the Trophy will be presented to a school from the state sector. |
