Scotland District lost by four wickets
Played at Hamilton Crescent, Glasgow, G11 5LU

Match Report

A very exciting match ended in a narrow loss for the club. Batting first we lost four wickets quickly, 33-0 t0 43-4, this required a rebuilding period. Debutant Martin Crump (22), Kevin Lawler (29) and Paul Coffey (44) took us to 134-6 a reasonable base to acquire a good total to declare at. However we again lost our way and struggled to 147-9 before declaring at tea. We were probably 30/40 runs short of where we wanted to be but a good bowling and fielding performance would put pressure on the young Warriors. Unfortunately a couple of missed catches and a couple of bowlers losing their radar put us under pressure. Cameron Caskie (5-55) responding for his first five wicket haul but the youngsters kept putting the ball just out of reach of the fielders. Even so at 129-6 we still fancied our chances but a fine seventh wicket stand of 20 unbeaten saw the Warriors home.
