Founded in 1956, The Forty Club Golfing Society is only open to members of The Forty Club. Many current cricketers are also golfers and The Forty Club Golfing Society is open to them as well as to those past their cricketing days.
For many, the camaraderie that they have built up over the years whilst playing cricket can continue on the golf course.
The Forty Club Golfing Society has its own Committee and a separate membership fee. The Officers of the Society are elected annually at the Society’s Annual General Meeting and are responsible for the administration and affairs of it.
A fixture list and members’ handbook is issued to all Society members each year.
The membership fee is currently £10.00 – please contact the Society’s Membership Secretary. Click here for application form.
Officers of The Forty Club Golf Society are listed on the Officers page.
There are two main Meetings in the year – the Spring and Autumn (at The Berkshire) are 36 hole foursomes and an entry form is sent out to all Members 8 weeks before the due date.
One Guest per Member is welcome at both Meetings as are ALL Forty Club cricket members.
Normally a Captains Meeting is held which is by invitation only.
There are 38 matches between March and early November – many of which are 36-hole foursomes. Those which have a time against them in the fixture list are usually four ball better ball matches against the home club’s Senior Section. There are also short tours to Scotland, South Wales & the Kent coast; playing major championship courses during all three.
For all the Matches and The Meetings please contact the nominated Match Managers directly either by email, phone or letter – you should be most welcome – their details are listed in the fixture card sent out to members and online below.
The Forty Club will keep the personal information that you supplied when you joined the Club on its database and also on the Golfing Society database. This information will be used to contact you and in order for the Club and the Golfing Society to operate effectively.

Your personal details will not be made available to anyone else unless requested by you.
The personal information of the Golfing Society Officers, committee members, match managers and members is made available to the Society membership and third parties via the Golfing Society fixtures book, via the Forty Club website, and to a limited extent via the annual Forty Club Yearbook.
Any subscribed member who is not willing for his or her personal information to be retained or shared in this manner is at liberty to ‘opt out’ and to request in writing to the Honorary Secretary of the Golfing Society that their personal information is not published in these media.
