Join The Forty Club

Applications from Cricketers.

Applications for membership are invited from cricketers who play or have played cricket to a good club 1st XI standard. Applicants must be over the age of 18 at the date of their application.

There are two types of membership:  Full and Life.

Full Membership. This is available in a number of forms:

An applicant over the age of 35 at the date of the application. He or she will pay an annual subscription of £30 and be eligible to take part in all forms of our club cricket.

An applicant over the age of 18 and under the age of 35 at the date of the application.  He or she will pay an annual subscription of £10 and will be eligible to take part in all forms of our club cricket, including overseas tours, but not the international tournament, known as the Quadrangular Tournament, where there is a senior age-limit.  Further, in our annual domestic tournament, known as the Inter District Tournament, sides are limited to 2 players aged between 18 and 35 years of age.

Schoolmasters.

Schoolmasters who are masters-in-charge of cricket are offered free membership of the Forty Club for the period of their appointment. They are eligible to take part in all forms of our Club cricket, including the tournaments [see para 2 above] appropriate to their age.

Schoolmasters who are not masters-in-charge of cricket, and who are under the age of 35 at the date of application will be offered free membership until they reach the age of 35.  Schoolmasters over the age of 35 at the date of application will be offered free membership for 2 calendar years from the date of their joining.  In both of these instances they will be eligible to take part in all forms of our club cricket, including the tournaments [see para 2 above] appropriate to their age.

Overseas Member.  Applications are welcome from prospective members who are resident overseas, by which we mean people who are in any given calendar year resident continuously overseas [ie outside the UK] for 6 months or more.  They must be over the age of 18 at the date of their application, and they will pay an annual subscription of £15. They will be eligible to play in any Forty Club school or club fixture; in the relevant district team based on their UK residence for the Inter District Tournament; and to take part in any overseas tours.

Life Membership.  Life Membership is available ONLY to overseas members. It costs a single payment of £300 payable via a UK bank BACS or cheque.
