I regret to have to inform you that Kurt Ostergaard passed away on Thursday 9th November.
He had suffered a serious cycling accident on the 28th August 2017, cracked his skull and suffered all sorts of internal damage. He was put into an induced coma. However he seemed to make a very promising recovery and was discharged from neuro rehab on the 8th November. Sadly his heart failed the following day.
Cricket had a special place in Kurt’s life. He had been a member of Dansk XL, our sister club in Denmark, for many years and latterly was President. He was also a member of the Danish Cricket Association’s Board of Directors for many years as well as chairman of Fredericia CC. He was a special friend of many in the Forty Club, as well as SGS and Cricket Espana, and would be seen regularly participating at Triangular and Quadrangular Tournaments.
His funeral will take place at the Christian Church, Fredericia on the 18th November at 11:00am.
Danish Cricket has lost a real gladiator in cricket, and we have lost a lively, humorous cricketing friend and good companion.
For those who knew Kurt well, his daughter’s email address should you wish to send a message is firstname.lastname@example.org . The Forty Club will be sending a message.
