Where in the world? Here you’ll find news of our tours – past and present!
Over the years, many members have experienced the thrill of playing at Test grounds around the world and they and their wives and partners have enjoyed visits to some incredible places, including the Taj Mahal, Sydney’s Opera House, the Masai Mara game Park in Kenya, the Iguazu Falls in South America, New Zealand’s fjord region and the Etosha Pan game reserve in Namibia.
XL tours have been to Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Barbados, The Gambia, Namibia, UAE, Italy, Malta, the West Indies, Argentina, Luxembourg and Chile to name a few!
In the Spring of 2018 the tour went to Sri Lanka. The Quadrangular Tournament with our sister clubs Cricket Espana, Dansk XL and SGS Holland was played in July in Koege, Denmark. Some XL cricketers travelled to Tallinn in Estonia for a weekend’s cricket: and the autumn 2018 tour headed to South Africa at the back end of November.
A 2019 New Year tour travelled to Dubai from 27th Jan to 4th Feb for a week’s cricket, shaking off the winter blues and getting the knees brown. The schedule included 5 matches. The 2019 Spring Tour broke new ground, travelling to The Gambia on the 27th February, returning on the 5th March, playing 5 tour matches plus a day when the tourists were involved coaching a mass of very excited and noisy youngsters.
